Welcome to Edge Cloud 8.0! This release introduces a comprehensive overhaul of Doctor Time management along with enhanced security features, improved integrations, and important bug fixes throughout the platform.

Scheduling and Doctor Time Enhancements​

We're excited to introduce a suite of improvements to Doctor Time management, designed to streamline scheduling, enhance visibility, and prevent conflicts:

  • Partial Minute Support - Doctor Time now supports partial minutes, allowing for more precise scheduling and time allocation.
  • Redesigned Procedure/Appointment Type Editor - A new, user-friendly editor makes it easier than ever to create and manage Doctor Time.
  • Scheduling Template Editor with Copy/Paste - Build and modify scheduling templates faster with intuitive copy/paste functionality.
  • Enhanced Security Controls - New permission settings help prevent unauthorized overbooking of doctor time, ensuring schedules remain accurate and conflict-free.
  • Updated Light Bar Interface - A refreshed GUI now displays Doctor Time directly in the light bar, providing real-time visibility at a glance.

Recall Appointments​

Assigning an assistant when scheduling a recall appointment is now saved correctly.

Billing and Financial​

Edge Specialist​

Fixed an error that could occur when editing a billing line if it is linked to an inactive treatment.

Global Payments Integration​

CVV, Address Line 1, and Postal Code can now be entered when creating a payment on file.

Insurance and Claims​

Electronic Insurance​

The Claim Center can now be sorted by patient last name. Click the Patient heading to sort in ascending or descending order.

Canadian Electronic Insurance​

Errors that occur when submitting claims now display in the Claim Center.

Edge Client Enhancements​

Security Editor: Duplicate Security Models​

Users can now duplicate an existing security model to use as a starting point for creating new ones. This streamlines the process of creating consistent, reusable security configurations. To do this:

  1. Select the security model you want to copy.
  2. Click the copy icon.
  3. Enter a name and description for the new model.

Importing Images​

Fixed an error that could occur when importing a single image if the Delete or Prompt option was selected.

Invisalign Integration​

The integration now consistently uses the latest Chrome driver, resolving previously encountered version-specific compatibility issues.

Patient Notepad​

When actively editing a notepad entry, refreshing the screen will now prompt the user to save any changes.

New Workflow Action: Visual Tags​

Users can now create a workflow to set or remove a Visual Tag.

Operator Log Report​

Fixed an issue where inactive operators could appear when running the report for a specific operator.

Appliance Tracker​

You can now print the Appliance Tracker while sorted by the Next Appointment column. This resolves a previous issue where attempting to print in that view could result in an error.

Posting AutoReceipts​

Links have been added to make viewing patient and responsible party information easier:

  • Clicking Patient Name in the Post AutoReceipts window will open the patient's financial tab
  • Clicking Billing Name will open the responsible party record

Edge Animations​

Patient Compliance Animations now play using the Windows default media player. Previously, playback required Windows Media Player, which was not available on all systems.

Patients With No Appointment Report​

Fixed an issue where newly scheduled online patients may have been incorrectly included in this report.

Patient Appointment History​

Fixed an issue where marking an appointment as Kept did not trigger the associated auto-events as expected.
