Practice Monitor Report
Run the Practice Monitor report to prepare a month-by-month profile of your practice production and receivables, including a chart of those results, as well as patient exam, start, and status data for all or part of any year. You may run the report for a specific orthodontist and/or office, or for all doctors and locations in your practice.

Report Data Sources - This report gets its data from finalized transactions, processed appointments, and your patients' Status Histories. Please refer to the explanations at the end of this article for details.
Open the Report
Select Reporting from the Reporting section of the Home ribbon bar. Then from the Patient section, open the Practice Monitor report. You can double-click the report name, or click Run at the top of the window to continue.(You can also use the Search field to find the report you want to work with.) You might also be able to run this report from your Recent Reports or Quick Reports list. See "Run Edge Cloud Reports" for details.

Report Settings
Select the options to use for choosing records and generating this report. Choose carefully, as your selections will affect which patients are included in the report. (If the settings panel is not visible, click the Show/Hide icon in the upper left corner of the Reporting window.)
Date - Select the date you want to use for calculating the report statistics. The report will include monthly calculations for each month of the year, up to the selected date. So, if you would like to see the report for an entire year, enter December 31 of the year you wish to review. If you enable the Today option, the report will calculate results from the beginning of this year up to today. However, keep in mind that only finalized transactions will be included in the receivables and collections calculations.
Office - Choose to include only the records for a specific office, or include the records for all office locations in your practice.
Orthodontist / Doctor - Choose to include only the records for a specific orthodontist / doctor, or include the records for all orthodontists in your practice.
View Report Results

If needed, click View at the top of the report settings panel to view the results on your screen. When you run a report or form from your Recent Report list, or when you run a Quick Report, the initial results are sent to your screen immediately, with one exception: A Quick Report that has the Print Only option enabled will not show your results on the screen at all, but continue with the printing options. You can use the arrows in the View section of the ribbon bar to view additional pages of a multiple-page report. You can also use the dropdown button or type a number in the zoom field to change the size of the report in your window.
Report Title & Header
Whether you view the report on your screen or print it, the report title and run date appear in the header of each report page. If you used subgrouping or other report options, that information appears just under the report title so you know which criteria was used to generate the results.
Show / Hide Details
If this report supports showing / hiding the details that comprise report totals, you can click the expand / collapse icons to show / hide the details. Not all Edge Cloud reports support this feature. If your cursor changes to look like a hand, the feature is available.

Use Arrows to Re-Sort Report
While viewing certain Edge Cloud reports, you can use the arrow beside certain column headings to re-sort the report according to that column's criteria. Click the arrows a second time to sort that column in reverse order, or click the arrows beside a different column to change the sort order again. (Not all Edge Cloud reports support this feature. If your cursor changes to look like a hand, the feature is available.)

Open the Patient Folder / Responsible Party Record
While viewing some Edge Cloud reports, you can click a patient name or responsible party name to open that record. Not all Edge Cloud reports support this feature. If your cursor changes to look like a hand, the feature is available.

Get Detailed Report Description
Click the icon to the right of the View button to open the help article with the detailed description of the report.

Choose the Output
With the results on your screen, you can choose the output with the toolbar at the top of the report window. See "Report Output Options" for details.

Report Results and Calculations
This report gets its data from finalized transactions, processed appointments, and your patients' Status Histories. Please pay close attention to the specific settings of several Edge Cloud editors that are mentioned below, as well as specific processes that must be performed consistently for the report to be accurate.
Production, Collection, Adjustments Columns and Chart
The production and collection calculations, found at the top of the report, are taken from the finalized Transaction reports included in the dates specified for the report. You can see the details of these totals by running the Production and Collection report for the same time period as this report. You must finalize transactions regularly for this data to be accurate.

A/R Past Due and Balance
The accounts receivable past due amounts and balance are calculated in the same manner as the Accounts Receivable Aging report for the dates specified for the report. You must finalize transactions regularly for this data to be accurate.

NP Exam, Records, and Consult Appointments Kept
The NP Exams, Records, and Consults columns show the number of patients who, during the reporting period, kept an appointment whose appointment "type" in the Appointment Procedure Types editor is "Exam", "Records" or "Consultation", respectively. You must process patient appointments regularly for this data to be accurate.

Phase I, Phase II, Full Tx, Limited Starts
The Phase I, Phase II, Full Tx and Limited Starts columns show the number of patients who, during the reporting period, had their status updated in the Patient Information Panel to a status whose "Classification" in the Status editor is "Active Phase I", "Active Phase II", "Active Full Case" or "Active Limited", respectively. You must update patient statuses regularly for this data to be accurate.

Starts / Exams
The Starts / Exams column uses the NP Exams column total along with the Starts total (as explained above) to calculate the percentage of patients that kept an Exam appointment that also were changed to a Start status.

Full Debond Appointments
The Full Debonds column shows the number of patients that kept an appointment whose appointment "type" in the Appointment Procedure Types editor is "Debond". You must process patient appointments regularly for this data to be accurate.

Placed on Observation
The Placed on Obs column shows the number of patients who, during the reporting period, had their status updated in the Patient Information Panel to a status whose "Classification" in the Status editor is "Recall Observation". You must update patient statuses regularly for this data to be accurate.

Observation Patients Seen
The Obs Pat Seen column shows the number of patients who, during the reporting period, kept an appointment whose appointment "type" in the Appointment Procedure Types editor is "Observation". You must process patient appointments regularly for this data to be accurate.

Total Observation, Phase I, Phase II, Full, and Retention Patients
These columns list the total number of patients who were assigned to the status of Observation, Phase I, Phase II, Full Treatment, and Retention during each month included on the report. Your patients' Status Histories are used to determine the status calculations.
