Production and Collection Report
Run the Production and Collection report to obtain the number, amount, adjusted amount, and net result of each type of production and collection transaction for any Transaction report or range of Transaction reports. Each section of the report includes the totals for that section. You can expand sections as needed to view detailed information about the patients and transactions that are included.
Only Finalized Transactions Included - You must finalize transactions regularly for this data to be accurate. This report only includes transactions that have been finalized and recorded on a Transaction report. Only the date of the Transaction report, not individual transaction dates, is considered. Therefore, a transaction with a date that falls in your selected date range may not appear on this report, if that transaction was not finalized on that date.

Run a Production and Collection Report

Open the Report - Select Reporting from the Reporting section of the Home ribbon bar. Then from the Financial section, open the Production and Collection report. You can double-click the report name, or click Run at the top of the window to continue. (You can also use the Search field to find the report you want to work with.) You might also be able to run this report or form from your Recent Reports or Quick Reports list. See "Run Edge Cloud Reports" for details.

Report Settings - Select the options to use for choosing records and generating this report. Choose carefully, as your selections will affect which patients are included in the report. (If the settings panel is not visible, click the Show/Hide icon in the upper left corner of the Reporting window.)
First / Last Report Dates / Numbers - Choose the Transaction report number or range of numbers to include on this report. Or, select a range of dates to include all Transaction reports that were finalized within that range. You can type a date in the fields, or click the calendar icon to select a date. You can also enable a Smart Date option to automatically calculate the dates for you, and select the appropriate Transaction reports to include. Your selected report number or numbers will appear just under the report title when you view your report.
noteOnly Finalized Transactions Included - You must finalize transactions regularly for this data to be accurate. This report only includes transactions that have been finalized and recorded on a Transaction report. Only the date of the Transaction report, not individual transaction dates, is considered. Office - Choose to include only the records for a specific office, or include the records for all office locations in your practice.
Orthodontist / Doctor - Choose to include only the records for a specific orthodontist / doctor, or include the records for all orthodontists in your practice.

Subgroup - You can optionally choose a subgroup to use to narrow the records to include on the report. Only records that fit your selected subgroup as well as all other report settings will be included. If you use a subgroup, the report will display the name of your selected subgroup just under the report name, so you know which criteria was used to generate the results. Manage Options and Output - With the results on your screen, you can choose the output with the toolbar at the top of the report window. See "Report Output Options" for details.

View Results - If needed, click View at the top of the report settings panel to view the results on your screen. When you run a report or form from your Recent Report list, or when you run a Quick Report, the initial results are sent to your screen immediately, with one exception: A Quick Report that has the Print Only option enabled will not show your results on the screen at all, but continue with the printing options.
Report Sections and Calculations
The calculations in the Production and Collection report are directly related to the Transaction report or range of reports that you selected to include. See "Transaction Report" for details about the factors included in each calculation.
New Treatment Fees - This section includes the full treatment fee amount of new contracts, created either with the New Contract editor or by activating a contract proposal. Open-ended contract fees that fall due during this time are included as well. Contract proposals that are not active are not included in this calculation. The transactions are grouped by treatment phase.

Count - The number of new contracts started in each treatment phase.
Charge - Total treatment fee, including production adjustments applied to the Treatment Fee tab of the Contract Structure editor. The Charge column at the bottom of this section matches the Amount column at the bottom of the New Treatment Fees section of the selected Transaction report(s).
Adjust - Any non-production adjustments applied to the Fees tab of the Contract Structure editor. You can see these transactions in the Treatment Fee Adjustments section of the selected Transaction report(s).
Net Amount - Charge column minus Adjust column.
Net AVG - Net Amount column divided by Count column.
The sum and average of all columns are calculated at the bottom of the section. You can expand the section to view transaction-specific details.
Changed Treatment Fees - This section includes production and non-production adjustments applied to existing orthodontics contracts, as well as contract member allocation changes. The transactions are grouped by treatment phase.

Miscellaneous Charges - This section lists miscellaneous charges entered from the Post Transaction window. The transactions are grouped by charge type.

Receipts - This section lists all transactions posted as payments from responsible parties and insurance. Each transaction is treated separately, even if they were posted together as a bulk payment.The transactions are grouped by receipt type.

Production Gross - The sum of the New Treatment Fees "Charge" column, Changed Treatment Fees "Charge" column,and Miscellaneous Charges "Amount" column.
Production Adjustments - The sum of the New Treatment Fees "Adjust" column, Changed Treatment Fees "Adjust" column,and Miscellaneous Charge Adjustments "Amount" column.
Production Net - Production Gross minus Production Adjustments
Collection Gross - Receipts amount total.
Collection Adjustments - Receipt Adjustments amount total.
Collection Net - Receipts minus Receipt Adjustments.
The bottom of the summary reflects the totals for each category.

Open the Patient Folder / Responsible Party Record
While viewing some Edge Cloud reports, you can click a patient name or responsible party name to open that record. Not all Edge Cloud reports support this feature. If your cursor changes to look like a hand, the feature is available.

Show / Hide Details
