Manage Sign-In Screen Layouts

You can create a collection of Patient Sign-In layouts for holidays and special interest events and load them with very little effort. You can also make changes to the current layout without saving the changes.

note

We recommend you save all your layouts in a folder such as C:\Program Files\SignIn on the sign-in station, or in some other logical and consistent location. If your layouts are important to you, you can include them in your regular backups.

  1. Open Patient Sign In Editor

    • Home ribbon bar > Modules Section > Sign-In > Password > Log In. If you do not have a sign-in prompt, you can press Ctrl+E on your keyboard and enter your sign-in password to enter editing mode.

Open Sign-In from the Modules section of the Home ribbon bar.

Log into the editor with your sign-in password. (If you have not set up a password yet, just press Enter at the login prompt.)

  2. Open Layout Options

     - Click the Layouts button from the Sign In Editor ribbon bar to manage your greeting screen layouts.

New Layout - Select this option to start building a Patient Sign-In screen from scratch. You then add element to your screen as needed. Be sure to save your new layout before closing the editor. (See "Set Up Patient Sign-In Screen" for details about adding elements to your sign-in screen.)

Load Layout - Select this option, then navigate to the .SignIn file you want to work with right now. When you exit and re-launch Patient Sign-In, your default layout will again appear automatically.

Pick Default File - Select this option, then navigate to your .SignIn files and choose which layout you want to appear when you launch Patient Sign-In from this workstation.

  3. Save Changes

     - From the Sign In Editor ribbon bar, click Layout, and choose Save Layout (or press Ctrl-S on your keyboard) to save any changes you have made to the screen. (See "Manage Sign-In Screen Layouts" for details about creating and using multiple layouts.)

  4. Exit Edit Mode

     - When you have finished making changes to your sign-in screen, click the Main button on the Sign In Editor ribbon bar. You can then choose Close Edit Mode (or press Ctrl-E) to reactivate patient sign-in, or Exit (or press Ctrl-Q) to close the sign-in window. If you re-activate Patient Sign-In without first saving changes, any changes you have made will remain in effect until you fully exit Patient Sign-In. When you then re-launch Sign-In, the layout changes will be erased.
