Troubleshooting Edge Cloud Updates

If you encounter issues updating Edge Cloud, here are some steps you can take to try to eliminate these issues. If, after trying these options, Edge Cloud still doesn’t update for you, please reach out to our Network Engineering Team at 800.346.5404 or engineering@ortho2.com for further assistance.

Firewalls and Whitelisting

Some hardware firewalls have a built-in anti-virus component and have blocked some of the files Edge Cloud needs to function from being downloaded and fully updated. In your firewall, whitelist edgeclientpublish.s3.amazonaws.com and edgeclientpublish.orthoii.com, and try the update again.

Use a Local Update Server

Another option to try is to update using a local update server. This involves downloading the update to a local folder on a machine that you designate as your update server and then sharing that folder out on your network. You can then set the rest of your workstations to update from that network folder instead of our update servers.

Note: If you choose this method, remember that going forward, you will need to update the workstation acting as the update server first, or else the update will not work on the rest of your machines.

If you need help setting up a local update server, contact the Network Engineering Team.
